Paige is a blogger who likes good food and traveling. As an out-of-town visitor, she decided to give Duchess Bakeshop a try. She wrote this review, accompanied by some great photos. Here is a quote:

People may notice that I haven’t been in the shop at all for the last few days. That’s because I’m on an excursion in Barcelona. I’ll be traveling through Spain in to France and Italy enjoying myself but also, and more importantly, researching new ideas to bring back for the shop! I’ll be posting photos of some things I’ve found and hope to bring back to add to the Duchess repetoire. So far Barcelona has been amazing! Tremendous food and a fantastic flair for design and presentation. Stay tuned!

1st place for best desserts in Edmonton

When it comes to the “best of series’” it really depends who you ask. Rob Lightfoot pointed out that Duchess Bake Shop had actually won 1st place in the Golden Fork Awards for 2010, in both the Best Desserts and Best Sweets categories.

I had a extremely rare, and perfectly unique cafe experience this afternoon that has left me feeling a bit out of sorts. I visited “Duchess Bake Shop” on 124 street and I will never be the same again.
