Culinary Team - Savoury Chef

We are seeking an experienced and thoughtful Savoury Chef to create and lead a new lunch program within our patisserie and café. This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up: a concise, elegant savoury menu that complements our pastry program, coffee, and alcohol offerings.

This role is ideal for a chef who values simplicity, seasonality, and precision — someone who understands that restraint, balance, and beautiful execution matter just as much as creativity. You will have full creative control over the lunch menu while working within the aesthetic, quality standards, and philosophy of a refined patisserie environment.

The lunch program will consist of 6–7 thoughtfully composed items, designed for consistent execution in a 7-day-a-week operation.


Qualifications:

Education
  • 2+ years of professional savoury kitchen experience (lead or solo responsibility preferred)
  • Menu development experience is a strong asset
  • Culinary education is an asset but not required if experience demonstrates strong fundamentals
 Experience
  • Prior bakery or bread experience preferred
  • Familiarity with basic bread fundamentals (mixing, fermentation, shaping, baking)

  • A skilled savoury chef with a strong sense of taste, balance, and restraint
  • Equally comfortable creating dishes and executing them with consistency, day after day
  • Drawn to ingredient-driven food rather than overly complex or trend-based cooking
  • Organized, self-directed, and confident making decisions
  • Calm under pressure and thoughtful in your approach to leadership and training
  • Excited by the challenge of building a program rather than stepping into an existing one
  • Respectful of the craft of pastry and motivated to create food that complements it
Working Conditions & Availability:
  • Shifts are typically 8 hours a day, 5 days a week
  • Workload fluctuates based on season and events
  • Moderate noise level
  • Standing for extended periods of time - up to 8 hours
  • Able to lift and carry up to 44 lbs.
